There will be almost $3,000,000,000.00 (That's three BILLION dollars) worth of vehicles sold via eBay Motors this Year. Here are some buying tips if you are planing to purchase a vehicle through eBay Motors:
Don't be too impatient: Watch the auctions you are interested in for a while. Use your "Watch this item" and search "Completed items" to see what similar vehicles have sold for.
Narrow your search: Choose a make and model you are interested in. It's easier to make checks on the auction by using an exact make and model in the search field.
Check Feedback: Check the feedback from other buyers. Make sure the seller is rated as a seller and no a buyer.
Request more pictures : Request more photos by e-mail if necessary.
Call the seller : Develop a rapport with the seller, and sale terms may be more flexible than you think. Have an Out : Bid only on auctions where sellers allow you to cancel after you inspect the vehicle.
No-Reserve auctions : Bid on auctions that don't have a minimum winning bid amount, which is often as high as the car's retail value.
Have cash : Many banks will not finance out-of-state transactions.Check first.
Have mechanic inspect vehicle : The eBay site offers inspection in 50 major metro areas, as well as a free limited warranty for the drive home for many vehicles.
Use Carfax : They will do an on-line vehicle history report which will tell you where the vehicle has been, its accurate mileage and whether it has been damaged in a crash or flood.
Use an on-line pricing service : There are many free services which will tell you the realistic retail and wholesale value of the vehicle. Set your maximum bid : Decide on a fair price for a vehicle, then bid and walk away. Don't get caught in a bidding war and end up paying too much.
Remember travel or delivery costs : You have to either pick up the vehicle or have it delivered when you win the auction. Include gas, hotels, food, lost work time and plane tickets in the cost.
Buy round-trip plane tickets : A discount round-trip fare is often cheaper than a one-way ticket, and it gives you flexibility if you deide you don't want the car after you see it.
